The Arabic Language Institute in Fez (ALIF) offers courses in Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic. The institute offers six and three week courses in all levels of Arabic. Most courses consist of six-week sessions of 120 hours of classroom instruction given four hours per day. Private or specialised lessons can also be arranged at the students request.
The core textbooks for regular six-week Modern Standard Arabic (or Fushaa) courses are Alif Baa & Al-Kitaab fii Ta'allum al-'Arabiyya, Volumes I, II and III (Georgetown University Press). All course materials for CMA are ALIF publications.
The student is required to submit an application form (which can be obtained from their website) at least three weeks before the desired term of enrolment. In order to confirm a place in your class, you must also send a non-refundable $50 application fee and two passport size photos.
The homepage provides general information, course description, the current schedule, information on housing, fees and applications.
